Lewisham Aged Care was recognised as the winner of the Catholic Healthcare Gold Dove Award '2019 Home of the Year' in a formal presentation held at the Home on Friday.
The Home was chosen ahead of three other finalists for the prestigious award, which is judged on criteria such as Quality, Resident Experience, Employee Engagement and Operational Performance. The judges also considered how the Home encompasses the Catholic Healthcare values of Compassion, Respect, Honesty, Hospitality and Excellence.
General Manager, Residential Care, Andrew Kinkade said, "Home to 96 residents in the inner west of Sydney, Lewisham Aged Care, is truly remarkable with a real sense of warmth and character. Lewisham is a worthy winner of this 'All Rounder' award and is recognised for outstanding results in overall performance.
"Special resident activities throughout the year included memorable 'Win a Wish' experiences, special birthdays and anniversaries celebrated, local intergenerational events and more," he added.

Andrew Kinkade presented the award to Lewisham Aged Care in front of proud employees, residents and volunteers. Lewisham celebrated with a delicious afternoon tea.
