Catholic Healthcare’s recent thought leadership dinner, The Insight Exchange, was attended by an audience of healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, GPs, social workers, NSW Health, aged care specialists and nurses.
Our guest speaker, Professor David Burke, Director, Older People’s Mental Health Service, and Project Lead, Psychogeriatric’s at St Vincent’s Hospital gave a keynote address on ‘Best Practice in the Treatment of Mental Health and Dementia for Older Australians’.
Following dinner, Prof Burke was joined by a panel of industry experts including Dr Louisa Norrie, Dr Roderick McKay, Dr Matthew Cullen and our Manager of Care Excellence, Julie Knox. The panel engaged in a thought-provoking discussion about causation, treatment options and innovative approaches to addressing the challenges of mental health and dementia in older Australians.
We look forward to presenting future Insight Exchange events and continue to encourage robust conversation about innovative approaches to aged care.
