A phone call from rugby league legend Terry Lamb and a footy jumper signed by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs were the highlights of Pearl’s 100th birthday celebrations.
Pearl, a resident of Blakeney Lodge, is well known and much loved in the town of Tumut. Pearl is an avid supporter of the local Tumut Blues Rugby League Club and virtually helped train all the players now aged between 18 – 60 years.
Pearl was also at the inception of Blakeney Lodge when it was a local community project, was on the Blakeney Lodge board for many years and remains on the Home’s auxiliary.
To top off the celebrations, Pearl received birthday cards from HRH The Queen, the Australian Prime Minister and local Federal Minister.
Some players from the current Tumut Rugby League team also dropped into Blakeney Lodge to wish Pearl a happy birthday.
Happy 100th birthday Pearl!
