Mother's Day preparations have been in full swing across our 41 Homes. Thank you to the efforts of our Recreational Activities Officers and staff who have gone the extra mile in making residents and their loved ones feel connected this Mother's Day.
Here's just a snapshot of the activities (and smiles) which have been taking place.
Holy Spirit Revesby
Residents and staff enjoyed a Mother's Day High Tea this week followed by a Relay Race around the Home. Everyone loved the beautiful decorations and amazing food, and the Mum's felt really appreciated. A 'Mother's Day poem' was also read out to residents, followed by some dancing to favourite tunes.
Some residents, including residents in wheelchairs, also participated in a Relay Race - Mother's Day fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. In total, residents completed two kilometres around the Home.
St Bede's Hurstville
Residents from St Bede's enjoyed some flower arranging and making Mother's Day gifts.
Emmaus Village Kemps Creek
Residents have been getting started on some Mother's Day craft as well as creating a 'virtual hug' station for residents to connect with family.
St Paul's Northbridge
St Paul's ran a Mother's Day activity where residents and staff were invited to have their picture taken with a special 'photo frame'. There's a lovely portrait gallery at the home now, featuring many smiling faces. Everyone who took part had their photo laminated to give to their loved ones on Sunday.
Lewisham
Lewisham held its Mother's Day lunch today and set up a Zoom meeting for residents and family members. Thanks to the families who joined in – a great success.
