Today, Catholic Healthcare is delighted to celebrate 27 years of providing health and aged care services to residents, clients and patients.
This year’s theme for Foundation Day is living Reaching Out, which lies at the heart of our Mission.
Catholic Healthcare's Interim CEO, Belinda Moyes, said "Today we celebrate the care and service Catholic Healthcare has provided across the year and we celebrate our team members for their dedication, compassion and resilience, caring for the wellbeing of our residents, clients, patients and for each other.
"Despite current difficulties, I’m truly proud of the exceptional care everyone at Catholic Healthcare is delivering, made a little easier with great teamwork, respect and empathy for each other.
"Twenty seven years ago the founders of Catholic Healthcare 'reached out' to serve the needs of the community, particularly the most vulnerable, and we continue this focus today."
Some of Catholic Healthcare’s highlights and achievements over the past year included:
- New services and activities focused on mental and physical well-being to help Home Care clients and residents stay connected, engaged and well
- Re-igniting the MyWish program which saw residents and staff enjoy visits to art galleries and exhibitions, zoos, restaurants and scenic sites
- Launching a new campaign, Care Runs Deep, reflecting our deep commitment to care, for our clients and for each other.
- Opening of McQuoin Park Retirement Living Village in Wahroonga, welcoming residents to this state-of-the-art development which has been selected as a Finalist in the Urban Developer Awards.
- Our new Home, Holy Spirit in Casula, was officially blessed and is already making a positive impact in the community. And we completed construction of MacKillop House Norwest, where we look forward to welcoming residents in the near future.
- Our very own Chris Rigby, founder and former managing director of Catholic Healthcare, was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List with an OAM for his incredible dedication and service.
Foundation Day is also an opportunity to acknowledge and thank Catholic Healthcare employees receiving long service awards. This year over 490 employees are receiving awards ranging from 5 years to 40 years. A remarkable achievement!
