St Francis Grafton residents and team members were recently treated to a country and western day as part of our MyWish program, granting special, once-in-lifetime experiences to residents.
Held in the home’s courtyard. Residents were singing and dancing to the tunes of a local country and western band in glorious winter sunshine.
“Having a country and western day here brings life and enjoyment to the residents. It stimulates conversation and creates happiness,” says St Francis Grafton Residential Manager Sandra Winters.
“We had a wonderful concert here and we all sang along with the band. It was lovely,” says resident Lorna.
Some furry friends made a surprise visit and residents were all cuddles and smiles with rabbits, guinea pigs and baby goats.
“We had a myriad of animals and they were quite groovy,” says resident Vivienne.
To cap off a memorable day, residents enjoyed a sweet treat from a pop-up ice cream cart with rum n’ raisin by far the most popular choice.
About MyWish
The program has been running since 2020.and grants residents who are living in one of our Residential Aged Care Homes their special wish.
It’s about promoting and valuing life at any age and providing residents with the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional experience such as our group of Jemalong residents will have when they go hot air ballooning for the first time ever.
Residents and loved ones can nominate a MyWish recipient online and the team at Catholic Healthcare team do the rest to plan a special experience.
